Chief

  • zé xiè 15g sweet, bland and cold. leaches out dampness and promotes urination. Relatively large dosage and strong diuretic. Cold --> eliminates heat constraint d/t water buildup or thin mucus obstructing the ascent of yang qi.

Deputy

  • Fu Ling 9g Leaches out dampness by promoting urination, strengthening the Spleen, and assisting the yang.
  • zhū líng 9g Eliminates dampness and promotes urination. With Ze Xie + Fu Ling, drain dampness, unblock and regulate urinary pathways, and drain heat from the UB.

Assistant

  • bái zhú 9g Spleen fears damp, which inhibits its T&T. Bai Zhu strengthens Spleen Qi to help T&T, and thus eliminate damp.
  • guì zhī 6g Also considered an Envoy.
